Introduction

Enterprises around the world are becoming more environment-conscious due to stricter overseas mandatory regulations and customer requirements and demands. One key area that is gaining growing global attention is climate change and greenhouse gas (GHG) accountability.

The ISO International Standards on GHG Management provide a suite of business tools to combat climate change. These standards are developed through a voluntary, multi-stakeholder and consensus-based process to ensure trust, credibility and assurance in the measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) of GHG mitigation measures.

The ISO International Standards on GHG Management cover an extensive scope ranging from organisational to product level standards. They are suitable for use by enterprises of any size, business activity and industry in both public and private sectors. Implementing these standards is key to enterprises which want to leverage on these "green differentiators" as strategic enablers to mitigate risks and build social responsibility.

This seminar aims to assist enterprises in the application of the published ISO International Standards on GHG Management and provide information on such upcoming standards and industry initiatives.

The list of published ISO International Standards on GHG Management includes:

  1. ISO 14064 Part 1:2006 - Greenhouse gases - Specification with guidance at the organisation level for quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and removals
